From Pasture to Seaside – a Day of Heartfelt Connection with Horses, Nature, and Spirit

Immerse in a day of healing, inspiration, and heart-opening connection with the natural world.
50% of proceeds benefit Pregnant Mare Horse Sanctuary and the care of their rescued horses
We begin at Pregnant Mare Rescue in Watsonville, entering the sanctuary pasture with Denna and Angel, spending time in the presence of the resident herd. Through quiet observation, mindful awareness, and consent-based interaction when invited by the horses, we’ll explore what it means to simply be in relationship with another being—without expectation or agenda.
There is no riding and nothing required of the horses. They are free to approach, move away, rest, graze, or engage as they choose. Additionally, we’ll engage in ecotherapy practices in their presence with Rev. Connie.
After lunch, us humans will unite on the private beach of La Selva with Rev. Connie and Angel for deep honoring of the ocean and Spirit, walking meditation and Presence, and gentle yoga on the shore before we conclude with open-hearted sharing.
Horses and nature often reveal what is hidden in our hearts and open us to messages and transformation from beyond our limited perceptions. Sharing this day with one another, the Earth, and our horse friends is an unforgettable experience.

***Please bring your own water, snacks, and lunch to eat along with the horses, or you can enjoy a restaurant during our 2 hour lunch break***
Pay what you can. Choose from these two options:
Foundational rate – $155
Pay this if you are able to afford it, and give foundational support to your fellow participants.
Equity rate – $110
For BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and historically marginalized communities, or those with limited income.

Rev. Connie L. Habash, MA, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Ecotherapist, yoga & meditation teacher, interfaith minister, and author of Awakening from Anxiety: A Spiritual Guide to Living a More Calm, Confident, and Courageous Life.
Over the last 31 years, she has helped thousands of students and clients overcome stress, anxiety, depression, and spiritually awaken. Rev. Connie is passionate about deepening personal growth and spirituality through nature. She leads outdoor events throughout the year connecting people to their heart and Spirit via the natural world, and she also teaches the Level 1 Online Ecotherapy Training with The Earthbody Institute. Rev. Connie has spent time learning from the horse teachers and continues to grow from her connection with them.

Denna Stone-Kelley

Pregnant Mare Rescue
Denna Stone-Kelley has spent more than a decade caring for, observing, and learning alongside the rescued horses of Pregnant Mare Rescue. Her approach centers on presence, consent, curiosity, and honoring each horse as an individual. Rather than asking horses to perform or participate, Denna supports people in slowing down, noticing, and entering the herd’s space with awareness—allowing authentic connection to emerge naturally between horse and human.
Angel Batt, MSW

Angel Batt is a Master-level Social Worker (MSW) whose career has centered around justice, compassion, and advocacy for those too often left unheard—including, now, horses. As the founder of BEYOND Liberty, she brings decades of experience in nonprofit leadership and trauma-informed care into her work with both humans and animals.
Bridging human awareness with equine presence, Angel represents the herd not as a trainer or therapist, but as a respectful witness and advocate for their consent, communication, and agency. Her role is rooted in the belief that simply being with horses—those living harmoniously in and with nature—invites profound well-being and awakens a deeper sense of connection, curiosity, and, therefore, care for the natural world around us.
